Many of us are left with nothing to do at home during the lockdown. And because of this, the quarantine period became the perfect time and opportunity to explore many different hobbies that we never did back then.

The situation also caused a lot of damage, especially for those who lost their jobs and whose businesses have to close down. Because of this, many resorted to exploring potential business ventures that could earn them a living during these trying times.

To some, it became an opportunity to learn new things they have never learned before. Many also became “plant parents”, whose backyards turned into a fine lush of greenery in the city.


A lot of people practiced gardening and planting seeds on pots and their backyards when the pandemic started. And as days go by, if you planted on the day the lockdown started in 2020, pretty sure that on the second wave of the lockdown, you will reap what you have sown by now.

Erich Gonzales shared to the world her first harvest from her backyard. For the actress, she firmly believes on the quote, “Pag may tinanim, may aanihin.”


On a vlog shared by the actress last January 2021, she excitedly shows her viewers the first harvest she had for the year. Erich also shows the plants she planted and harvested such as malunggay and calamansi.

The actress was very happy for the successful gardening she did for the whole year. Erich as also excited for the many possible dishes she can do for the harvests she has gathered from her garden. Since these trees have grown quite a lot during the lockdown, she had to cut some of its branches in order to be harvested. According to Erich, it was fine to cut it since it will grow back eventually.She also had banana plants which she was able to gather many bananas from.


Aside from the health benefits and nutrients, Erich encouraged everyone to plant on their gardens harvestable plants such as fruit-bearing trees and vegetables because it can be guaranteed that it free from harmful chemicals and organic in a way. It will also help everyone save money from growing it into their own lawns instead of buying from markets or groceries. It also helps the environment for being eco-friendly and green.
